STAT offers a Care Map comprising survey results and anecdotal information collected from the community of individuals with sickle cell and caregivers of individuals with sickle cell. VOWW/STAT also provides links to physicians, specialists, and various medical professionals on its web site. However, VOWW/STAT does not make referrals to these or other physicians, specialists, hematologists, medical professionals. We can't maintain current information on whether such persons meet professional criteria across the wide variety of medical disciplines and geographic regions. Nor can we know enough about an individual's medical history, healthcare needs, financial or insurance situation to make proper referrals. Care Map ratings are provided as a starting place to help you conduct your due diligence in finding a care provider.

From time to time, the organization may issue official policy or position statements about a specific issue related to sickle cell disease or medical treatment of the condition.
